Mary Kapolnek was a young teenager on the North Side of Chicago when she came across  an envelope of crumbling newspaper clippings from 1912 tucked in a drawer in her parents' bedroom. It was 1948; two world wars and the Great Depression had long diverted public attention from the ship called Titanic, whose disastrous maiden voyage was recounted in the hidden newspaper stories...
